Nestled in the rolling hills surrounding the ancient Etruscan town of Cortona, situated in a scenic elevated (300 m above sea level) position from which you can enjoy spectacular views, stands Villa Gelsomino, the ideal place to spend a holiday in contact with nature in a landscape of rare beauty. From the windows and from the garden of the villa you will behold the Tuscan countryside and the hills of the Cortona and Siena area, in a riot of scents and colors that culminate in the unforgettable sunset events every evening. The garden, spacious and refined, is filled with plants and flowers and offers a small vegetable garden where you can gather herbs and seasonal vegetables. Beyond the garden you will find classic Tuscan terraces for the cultivation of olive trees that surround the property. Villa Gelsomino is the perfect base to discover the great artistic and cultural cities of Tuscany and Umbria, all easily accessible by car in a short time (for example Montepulciano, Siena, Pienza, San Gimignano, Arezzo are less than an hour's drive away) or with public services (ie Florence is 1h.20 min train ride, Rome 2h.20 min).
The garden (fenced, about 2,500 square meters) houses a beautiful swimming pool with Roman steps (6 x 12 meters, 1 meter minimum depth, maximum 1.80 meters), reserved for your exclusive use and fully exposed to the sun throughout the day and equipped with deckchairs and umbrellas for sunbathing or relaxing during your sweet Tuscan days. The pool area also includes an outdoor shower and a barbecue area with pergola equipped for outdoor dining. Always outside you can find a nice porch close to the main kitchen with table and chairs for outdoor dining. In addition to the indoor kitchen you'll have at your disposal a comfortable outdoor kitchen complete with wood-burning oven.
The owners have an eye for children having created a playground for the little ones (swings, bicycles, rocking chair and slide). A bocce field in the shade will give young and old a lot of fun time.
The villa has an external laundry area (with washing machine, iron and ironing board) and private parking. Pets of small and medium size (with surcharge) allowed. Free wi fi included.

Interior Description

Villa Gelsomino was built entirely out of local stone. The interiors respect the great Tuscan tradition, which enjoy beautiful ceilings with exposed wooden beams and terracotta floors. The space is generous (250 square meters total) and equipped with all the necessary amenities to make your time in the villa special. The villa develops on two floors connected by a wooden staircase. On the ground floor you will have at your disposal a large, fully equipped kitchen complete with dining table. The kitchen also has two direct exits to the garden, one on the porch equipped for outdoor dining. The living room is very spacious and is decorated with a stone fireplace and comfortable sofas as well as satellite TV and desk. On the ground floor you find the first of four bedrooms of the villa, it is a room with two single beds (convertible into a double bed if necessary) with direct access to garden. On the ground floor there is also a bathroom with shower.
Going up to the first floor you will find yourself in a large hallway from which you will have access to the other bedrooms. The first is a double room with an en-suite bathroom with shower. The other rooms are a large double room (ideal if you have children because you can add single beds) and a room that can be adapted both as a double or twin room depending on your requirements. These two bedrooms have access to a large bathroom with a bath and shower.
