Santa Croce, which is the ancient centre of the city, is within easy reach of the Santa Lucia railway station and Piazzale Roma, which are the main terminals for arriving in Venice. It is a ten minute walk to the magnificent Ca' Pesaro palazzo on the Grand Canal, home to a famous modern art museum, and around 15 minutes to the Rialto bridge. This area is famous for its many traditional restaurants and shops.
