Casa Maria is a lovely apartment located just a few steps from the historic center of Cortona, a Tuscan village famous throughout the world for its historical and artistic beauties. The apartment is located in a quiet location, and it is perfect for those looking for a quiet and secluded place, both for those who want to spend a holiday full of culture and art. Its strategic position allows guests to easily reach the main cities of Tuscany and Umbria, and discover all the beauty that the surrounding area can offer. The apartment is located on the ground floor of a small building just outside the walls of Cortona, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view over the whole Val di Chiana. Casa Maria has a large parking next to the property and a small outdoor paved courtyard which surrounds the house. With a few minutes walk you will reach the main street of the city.
Innenbeschreibung
The apartment can accommodate up to 4 guests and is spread over one level. Entering the property we are directly in the living area, where, on the left, you will find the living room, very bright and complete with sofa, armchairs and Smart TV, equipped with a bright window door from which you can exit and admire the wonderful view of the surrounding valley. In front of the living room there is the kitchen, fully equipped with everything you need to cook your favorite dishes. In the kitchen there is also a large dining table, where you can enjoy your meals with friends or family and a second exit on the outside courtyard of the house. The sleeping area consists of 2 spacious bedrooms: the first one has a double bed, wardrobe and overlooking the valley. The second one has two single beds that can also be joined as a double and it is complete with wardrobe. Between the two bedrooms there is a bathroom with shower and washer-dryer machine.
Casa Maria has free Wi-Fi internet access and air conditioning and heating in all rooms (both for a fee)

We love Cortona!
Casa Maria was a spacious, clean, well appointed apartment just outside the Cortona city walls on its Southeast side. Two large bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full kitchen with a large dining table, and a comfortable living room with TV. Also a full wrap around terrace, that I am sure we would have used more if our temperature was warmer - it would be delightful for stays in April-October! Easily enough space for two couples (sharing the one bathroom), it was perfect for the two of us. (Only thing missing was a couple of welcome cafe pods for the coffee machine so we would know which ones to buy at the Conad in Camucia - the town in the valley with larger grocery options.)
Though the company has several properties, we chose Casa Maria because it had access to on-site parking (perfect - never had to worry about having a parking spot when we returned) as our Tuscan Vacation was mostly driving to other hilltop towns like Cortona, though Cortona was easily our favorite! We usually returned to Cortona in the evening to eat at one of its fine restaurants or trattorias. Don’t miss having a pizza with Tony at Pizzeria Croce del Travaglio!
Our only word of warning - the “short walk” from Casa Maria to City Center - is more like a climb - one of the steeper inclines we faced throughout our hilltop vacation - so not for the faint of heart. We are middle aged adults - we saw it as exercise BEFORE dinner - and knew going slow downhill going home was necessary. We had perfect weather, so glad that we did not have to ascend or descend on wet stone roads.
The staff was attentive, but not intrusive, having access to their office in town was helpful, though we had no issues to address with them.
Also, highly recommend having Rent It set up a walking tour of Cortona with Inca. She was the best and was the best way to start exploring all of Cortona.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Excellent location, close to heart of Cortona. Easy access to the trains to take you on day trips. Loved our walking tour with Chiara! Loved sitting out on the terrace. Would highly recommend this accomodation.
